Gov. Huckabee Rockin' With Barry Goudreau ,former member of The Band Boston, At WhipperSnappers In Londonderry, New Hampshire.Mike Rocks !
If anyone doubts presidential candidate Mike Huckabee's crossover appeal to non-traditional voters, then you should have been where I was last night. Mike Huckabee was rocking with a famous local band, Mama Kicks, Friday night at WhipperSnappers in Londonderry, New Hampshire.

As Mike enters the restaurant, he gives a "Hey Dale" over to me. It amazes me how he can remember names after meeting hundreds of people. . Or is it that some people are just that hard to forget? (for reasons best left alone) Let's go with the version where he's just real good at remembering names.
Gov. Huckabee & Dale

This whole event was brought together by Fred Bramante, the New Hampshire campaign co-chairperson and owner of Daddy's Junky Music Store chain. Fred's also one of the nicest persons I've ever met. He gets on stage and introduces the Governor to the packed crowd - many of whom do not really know who Mike Huckabee really is. They were just there to hear Mama Kicks. Fred's on stage and tells a short version how Mike in his last year as Governor, met with Keith Richards of the Stones backstage and arranged a Governor's Pardon for a traffic violation arrest that Keith had incurred some 30 years earlier. The crowd loved it!

For anyone left who doesn't know, Mike is one superb bass player. During one song, he let loose with a bass solo to a standing ovation. To everyone's surprise, he was joined on stage by Barry Goudreau, the sizzling hot guitarist of that famous band Boston. What a beautiful sight - Mike jamming side by side with Barry to Sweet Home Alabama and Jail House Rock. They brought the house down. It was an experience I will never forget. (I hope to have video soon)

After the last song, Fred Bramante went on stage and put Governor Huckabee on the spot. "Will you make a pledge, that when elected President of the United States, that Mama Kicks can play at the White House?" That campaign pledge was indeed made.

That looked like it was a lot of fun! Wish I could've been there!
It could also be the reason that Mike looked kinda tired during his "American Solutions" web cast on Saturday. During his speech, he gave some tips for living a healthy lifestyle; but he missed one important one: Get at least 8 hours of sleep every night. Lack of sleep is one reason people are overweight. Not getting enough sleep can interfere with the chemicals (leptin and grehlin) that tell us when we are hungry and when we are full, and can make you over eat.
I know Mike doesn't want those 110 pounds back. And we need him to be well-rested and have energy during the long campaign cause we want him to be our next President.
Dear Anonymous,
The Governor's schedule is hectic beyond belief, however he is in better shape than most 20 year olds. He often runs 10 miles or more at 4:30 am. Eight hours sleep for him is probably a distant memory.
For Mike to play with the band was relaxing for him and he was only there for one set.
